The Hard Cash Poetry Contest

Contest entry poem

which pursuit
things do
sit through,
calculatingly, summing up
his percentages
enjoying
tired unambiguity.

The Hard Cash Poetry Contest

Contest entry poem
by
Vera Danner

after we’ve learned that
        this same lettuce
                         defended
        my taxing problem

who could say for sure which yearning fate might
        stand up against without ties
                         coming to terms with everyone’s
                         returns
        slapping up alarming
penchants

the mixed blessings
moving into wicked
deceit?
